Pick The Naitch's partner. [24 Oct 2006|04:31pm]

In recent weeks, the Spirit Squad has had quite a bit of trouble one-on-one against the legendary “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Flair has defeated several members of the Squad in singles action, and he’s had some legendary backup to help him battle the Squad as well.

At Cyber Sunday, Flair will challenge the Squad for the World Tag Team Championship. Flair will have another Legend as his partner on Nov. 5, and it’s up to you the WWE fans to decide just who that is.

Your choices are:

-Sgt. Slaughter, a WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Champion who also holds a recent victory over Spirit Squad member Nicky,

-“Rowdy” Roddy Piper, another WWE Hall of Famer who has been a long-time friend and rival of Flair’s and is never afraid of a good fight,

-or Dusty Rhodes, a former multiple-time World Champion who may know Flair better than he knows himself.

Any one of the three would make quite a formidable pair with Flair, but it’s up to you whether it’s the Rowdy Scot, the American Dream or the Sarge who stands beside the “Nature Boy” at Cyber Sunday.

Sorry! Don't know how to do a fancy link thingy :(

I'd be more than happy to see Ric with a new title belt, even one as worthless as the World Tag Team title lol.

I've picked Dusty, purely because i've seen Flair/Piper team up in WCW and Flair hardly has a history with Sarge. So the weirdness of seeing Naitch team with 'The Dream' is what drove me!

Two words, five letters. [20 Aug 2006|07:53pm]

From wwe.com

"The great American World War II General Douglas MacArthur was always a master of inspiration as he commanded the Allied forces in the Southwest Pacific. At some point, probably with Japanese shells raining down on a remote Philippine shoreline, the General spoke the words, “Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.” And while the purpose of this article is not in any way to liken SummerSlam to World War II, one cannot help but be reminded of MacArthur’s quote when pondering what will become of Mick Foley and Ric Flair tonight. Age has indeed wrinkled the bodies of these two legends, but in a match that can only end when one man screams “I Quit,” the souls of these two fighters are truly on the line...

Naitch Signs New Contract [14 May 2006|07:54pm]

[ mood | crappy ]

From wrestling exposed...

Ric Flair will marry Tiffany VanDemark, a women's fitness competitor that was seen with the "Nature Boy" at the hall of fame ceremony on 5/27 in the Grand Cayman Island. This will be Flair's third marriage. On a side note, Flair has signed a new three-year contract with WWE.

Flair needs to be a storyline commissioner/GM. Christ knows RAW needs one, his role as the leader of the Magnificent Seven, was some of his best work, seriously.

He should wrestle a handful of times a year, don't just job him out as you would someone like Val Venis. He's Ric Flair, for Christ's sakes. Like him or not, he's still over and could atually, you know, draw money for the company if used correctly.

But actually tring to create storylines that draw money, seems foreign to the WWE at the moment.

So what do you guys think about?:

1.) Flair being in the Rumble tonight.
2.) The roadrage topic.
3.) The situation with Edge.

Just wondering.

So who attacked The Naitch? [30 Aug 2005|09:37pm]

Well, I fear this will be very obvious, but hey, it's a chance for some discussion!

I'm betting the house on it being Triple H, mainly because they're supposed to be feuding :-p and the whole bloody unconcious angle reminded me of when he attacked Shawn Michaels prior to SummerSlam 2002. BUT why did he do it? what's the motivation in attacking the kiss stealin', jet flyin', wheelin' dealin', limousine ridin', son of a gun!?

I think Triple H will put it down to two reasons:

1 - He'll blame Flair for the losses to Batista.

B - Shawn Michaels is a hated enemy of 'The Game' and the thought of Flair teaming with him disgusts him!

HOWEVER! With the current WWE booking team there will probably be no explanation giving and they'll make a big pig's ear of the whole thing.

As it pertains to Raw [29 Aug 2005|10:56pm]

[ mood | pissed off ]

Okay, I am really pissed now, because I was really looking forward to seeing Flair in action again. They had to go and ruin it didn't they? But you know, I guess I have to be happy enough that he was even there at all. But c'mon now, it would've been HBK and The Nature Boy!!!! Whatever, I'm done with this mini rant...

Later Edit: Okay, so he came back. But they still lost. I guess you can't get everything you want. =(

Plan for The Naitch [24 Aug 2005|08:57pm]

From PWTorch newsletter

"WWE's current plan for Ric Flair is to have him put over as a top babyface. This will lead to a program with Triple H in six weeks time when he returns for the first edition of RAW on USA Network."

Thank God, something worthwhile for Flair, rather than just playing Triple H's bitch!

Great to see ya! [23 Aug 2005|04:38pm]

[ mood | hyper ]

It was really cool to see that Flair was on television again last night. What made it even better was that it was alone. I mean, I love HHH to death, but I was tired of seeing Ric as his shadow. The crowd cheered their heads off, perhaps because he was smack in the middle of one of the states so lovingly named "Flair Country": Virginia. Sure, he got an apple spit in his face by Carlito, but he kicked the crap out of him soon afterward. =) It was good to see that he's still got a great deal of energy to mess around with.

Quote of the night:
"The ladies always had three words for me: "ALL NIGHT LONG".

Ha ha. Holy crap. There's a reason that when I went to Disney World last Thursday, I had to ride Space Mountain...

Hi fellow Nature watchers! I found this community and got re-excited because I live deep in the heart of Flair country. Charlotte, NC. A few weeks ago I got to meet the man for the first time too! Met him at a sandwich/cookie/other treats place called Dean & Delucas. If you live in the Charlotte area or are in the Charlotte area, head over to the one in Stonecrest and you might meet him as well. Apparently he visits this place a lot because he lives nearby. My dad has met him there many times. Thanks! I'll check back here too!

October?! Nooooo!! [09 Aug 2005|01:23pm]

[ mood | pissed off ]

As reported by Dave Scherer of PWinsider.com, with an assist from Devon Cutting:

In his Charleston Post and Courier column today, Mike Mooneyham reported that "Triple H and Ric Flair are scheduled to return to WWE television Oct. 3 when Raw makes its USA network debut." Given his Carolina roots, Mooneyham's information concerning Flair is usually right on the money. It makes perfect sense to hold off the two men's return until WWE makes its cable TV jump. It will be a great way to start off on USA.

As we reported earlier this week, the previously scheduled Flair vs. HHH match for SummerSlam had already been scrapped...

I'm a little late with this since I actually received the DVD some time ago, but better late than never. To say the least, the dvd is amazing. I never had the opportunity to watch some is his older matches (most actually) because of the fact that I haven't been watching wrestling nearly that long. Hell, I wasn't even alive that long!! But seeing that cage match with him and Harley Race was great. The stuff with Steamboat was great too. Hell, it was all great. It's crazy to think that in his first run in the WWE he was already in his 40s. And still, he was putting on matches like the 1992 Royal Rumble match. Also, getting that insight on his thoughts about opponents and matches was awesome. He speaks very intelligently. It's not hard to see why this guy is a legend. He has so much respect for the business. The tribute that the guys did for him that was never televised moved me to tears. I have a whole new respect for this guy. It's one thing to read about the matches and what not (even though his book was great) but I could never full grasp the magnitude of some of these matches until I saw them. He was right when he said that the ladies knew that his greatest asset was that he was a sixty minute man. He was putting on tremendous hour long matches for most of his career.

And this man isn't even in the Hall of Fame. Me, my sister, and my cousin were about to kill someone when he didn't make it in this year. Perhaps it's because he's still too involved with the product? Whatever the case may be, he deserves it more than Pete Rose! What the hell, here's a guy who busts his ass for the sport he loves, and he's passed over for this guy who's a baseball player! He's not even in the baseball hall of fame, what is he doing in the WWE Hall Of Fame?! Whatever, I guess soon enough we'll see him inducted. It'll be much bigger, at least in my eyes, than Hogan's crappy induction, that's for sure.

By the way, I'm headed to Disney World soon. My goal?: To ride SPACE MOUNTAIN!! Ha ha. Later...
